However, their complex structure and dense occupancy make fire safety a paramount concern. Unlike active systems like sprinklers and alarms, PFP works quietly in the background, incorporating fire-resistant materials and construction techniques to control the spread of fire and smoke. Did you know Le Gavroche was dog-friendly? Indeed, the first restaurant in the UK to be awarded three Michelin stars, a prestigious accolade it held from 1982 to 1993, welcomed canine companions with open arms. In an era where high-end restaurants typically prohibited dogs, fearing they might disturb other patrons, Le Gavroche stood out with its unique policy. Interestingly, their stance on babies was stricter than on dogs. High-end restaurants often assume that dogs might not be suitable for such refined environments, worrying they could cause disturbances. However, the real issue often lies not with the dogs, but with their owners. Well-behaved dogs are less likely to disrupt the dining experience than unruly patrons. It's worth considering why problematic human behaviour isn't met with the same stringent policies. So, why do you think Le Gavroche embraced such an unconventional stance? If you think your venue is obviously dog-friendly, think again. I know a pub called the Dog and Duck that doesn't allow dogs. And believe me, no dog parent likes going somewhere assuming it’s dog-friendly. It’s like going to a steakhouse and assuming they have vegetarian options. The issue also extends to staff. Sometimes, they don’t know whether dogs are allowed. Remember when that popular pizza chain didn't allow a service dog? Or, you might have a bar area where dogs are welcome, but you don’t want to promote it because people might assume dogs are allowed throughout the entire venue. I spend so much time searching websites to see if they mention being dog-friendly or calling the venue... How old school! Who calls these days? And if I had left it to my non-dog-owning friends, I wouldn’t have taken Lola anywhere! So, make it clear that you’re dog-friendly. I may have a tip for you — join WagIt. We make it easy for you and your dog-owning customers. PS - I just googled to see if BrewDog in New York was dog-friendly since not many places are, and was pleasantly surprised.
