Discover the official route of the Dakar Rally, the sixth edition of which will be held in Saudi Arabia from 3 to 17 January 2024. In total, the competitors will set off from Bisha for a distance of around 7,700 kilometres, including 5,100 kilometres of special stages. For the first time, five stages have been drawn on courses separating the FIM and FIA vehicles, representing 45% of all timed sectors. A total of 340 vehicles will take part in the famous event. Alongside the main race, the Dakar Classic will host 76 cars and 19 historic trucks that will compete in a regularity challenge, while the Mission 1000 challenge will allow five vehicles to test their innovative technologies. The first days of the Dakar 2025 will also serve as a springboard for a new generation of Saudi drivers, selected as part of the Saudi Next Gen operation, which will give access to the 2026 edition for the crew that has distinguished itself the most. Dakar 2025: a longer and more difficult "48h Chrono" stage In 2024, the Dakar drivers discovered the format of the 48h Chrono, a giant stage that extends over two days with an obligation to cut the engines at nightfall, scattered in minimalist rest areas lost (or almost) in the middle of the Saudi desert. For the 2025 edition, this unique challenge will once again be offered with a greater mileage (FIM, 958 km / FIA, 971 km), a variety of terrains on each of the two days, and a major deadline that arises from the third day of racing. The difficulties will follow one after the other since it will be necessary to combine performance and caution during the marathon stage that will lead to the rest day scheduled for January 10 in Ha'il. Nothing will be decided halfway through, given the copious menu that awaits all the competitors in the second week. It is on this portion of the event that most of the special stages separated between the motorcycle and car categories have been designed, with multiple benefits for the stakeholders involved. In sporting terms, the parallel routes force the co-drivers to ensure navigation without the help of the tracks left by the two wheels, and at the same time allow the cars to engage as soon as the first rays of sun appear. The prospect of riding at night in the dunes is fading, although the last days of racing in the Empty Quarter promise everyone an ocean of sand, especially for the 11th and penultimate stage. For the last stage, the starts will be given online. Direction Shubaytah again, for a final finish that will be judged for the first time in the heart of the bivouac.
