DBS Foundation Launches SGD 7.3M Programme to Combat Nutrition and Social Isolation Among Singapore’s Vulnerable Seniors 💰 DBS Foundation announces a new SGD 7.3 million initiative to uplift 6,000 vulnerable seniors over the next two years in 12 ageing towns across Singapore. 🍱 The programme includes twice-weekly nutritious meals and monthly engagement activities supported by DBS’s 14,000 employees, fostering both physical and emotional well-being. 👥 Builds on the SGD 3.8 million DBS Community Pop-Up Market initiative, which benefitted over 30,000 households across 38 locations, offering free essentials and practical advice. 🛒 Enrolled seniors will also receive quarterly SGD 60 supermarket vouchers and workshops on nutrition, financial and digital literacy, and mental wellness. 🎯 The effort is aligned with Singapore’s SG60 milestone and the looming shift into a super-aged society, targeting deeper, systemic change rather than short-term relief. 🤝 Supported by partners like Thye Hua Kwan Moral Charities and Lions Befrienders, the initiative underscores a collective push for social inclusion and active ageing. 🗣️ Karen Ngui, Head of DBS Foundation: “With Singapore becoming a super-aged society, we must ensure all seniors age with dignity, purpose, and joy.”
