TOMORROW: Deborah's Place celebrates exactly 40 years as an official nonprofit entity. Not all organizations endure so long—but we're proud to have seen four decades of service, and all the changes that entails. From an overnight shelter, providing a night's worth of respite to a dozen or so women (left); to today's Permanent Supportive Housing model, providing stability, home, and an opportunity for healing to hundreds of women across the city (right)—many things have changed, but our commitment to the women of Chicago remains the same.
