Portraits are Everywhere. AARTICHOKE has so many dreams, but one of the biggest is to spark conversations about the arts—to invite you to see the world from a different perspective and encourage your own creative journey. That’s why I’m excited to share this 49-second mini doco on portraits. As someone who loves photographing people, I know my style isn’t for everyone—and that’s okay. I’m not here to throw shade (okay, maybe just a little), but there’s so much more to a portrait than posed expressions and forced smiles. Is that really authenticity, or just trying to keep up with the trends and norms? To me, being authentic means showing up as yourself, with all the beautiful nuances. Sometimes, a simple glance can speak louder than any carefully crafted pose, and honestly, that’s what makes a portrait far more interesting to me.
