Here's the story: Nearly 2 years ago AirVitalize Innovations (at the time called AiryCherry) was invited to compete at ASUio in Arizona State University. Before the competition we... 👉 Prepped 100+ possible questions judges might ask 👉 Printed & hand cut business cards to appear more professional 👉 Broke out our most business professional outfits 👉 Stayed at a retirement home for free because we couldn't afford a hotel We went home empty handed, but I felt nothing but pride for my team's hard work. You see, a month before the competition we had conducted a customer discovery lead pivot and lost all of our "tangible" product traction from the last year. A lot of folks say grants and pitch competitions are a time sink for founders. But this loss helped us focus on balancing the technical and business sides of our new product, which brought us to where we are today. My pitching technique has definitely changed since then.
