Today, on the United Nations International Day of Women & Girls in Science, Culligan’s very own senior lab manager and quality assurance officer, Maria Mozdzen, visited the science classes at Mother McAuley Liberal Arts High School, an all-girls high school in Chicago. Inspiring the next generation of women leaders in science and sustainability, Maria conducted lab tests to help the students better understand what’s in their water – and she offered students the chance to run tests, too! The Mighty Macs asked great questions about innovation improving water quality around the world and how thoughtful water habits can reduce reliance on plastic and make great impact for our planet. With 24 years experience, Maria leads our Illinois-EPA certified Water Analysis Lab, managing a team of four scientists who happen to also be women. Together, they test over 16,000 water samples each annually, helping people take the first step in improving their water quality at home, at work and on the go. We are proud to celebrate Maria, her team and all women in science today and everyday for the expertise they share and impact they create. #WomenInScience #STEM #WaterQuality
