Training or Trying? What actions are you taking to improve your circumstances? Often, we hear people say “I tried” and it didn’t work out. We don’t try for success; we train for it. Quest is on the road, training local law enforcement agencies in suicide prevention and intervention. Did you know? The National Child Search Assistance Act of 1990 was a huge step forward in NCMEC’s mission. Now, each federal, state and local law enforcement agency must enter information about missing children younger than 18 into the FBI’s National Crime Information Center database, or NCIC. The Act also establishes state reporting requirements, eliminates waiting periods before law enforcement accepts a missing child case and requires law enforcement to maintain a close liaison with NCMEC regarding missing child cases. #40YearsOfHope

On National "If You See Something, Say Something®" Day, it's important to remember most attackers drop clues, or "leakage," hinting at their intent to carry out mass attacks. This can happen in various forms, including verbal statements, social media posts, written messages, or conversations with friends or family members. Stay aware of behavioral warning signs, and if something feels off, report it to the authorities.
In recognition of National "If You See Something, Say Something®" Day, we highlight the campaign’s role in promoting public safety since its launch after 9/11. Originally started by the NY MTA and expanded nationwide by DHS in 2010, the initiative partners with organizations across the country to encourage the public to report suspicious activity. Since 2018, September 25 has been known as #SeeSayDay, reminding everyone to stay alert and report anything unusual to law enforcement. Though the campaign has evolved, its core message remains unchanged: "If You See Something, Say Something®."
