Should the Canadian government give some employment priority to veterans? Or as is now the case... one could be good enough to die for us but not good enough to win a contract. How sick is this. Civil servants in Ottawa now require a post secondary diploma or degree for individuals who work on government projects. Imagine, you could have 25 years of service in Signals, be a Certified Cyber Security Analyst and you are our of luck. Canadian citizens can join our Armed Forces at 17. Many, and I mean very many go on to get Bachelor degrees and Masters, even Doctorates but lower ranks often don't have the means or time. Serving means postings and deployments, tough to do night school... Our military procurement is in need of a massive shake-up. Cut the bureaucracy to the bone.
💡 ADGA Group , a leader in simulation, cybersecurity, and command and control for DND and CAF, is speaking out against new procurement requirements that risk sidelining Canada’s veterans.
