I appreciate Government Technology giving me the opportunity to share some of my thoughts and predictions for ED Tech in 2025. Although AI will certainly be a focus in 2025, I believe many will find out quickly that the data behind the AI models will become a critical prerequisite to realizing real returns. For ED Tech organizations this means selling less AI hype, and providing more foundational data services to help enable institutions to be better prepared to leverage AI tools; resulting in an environment where those Ed Tech entities that focus on building up core data sets related to learner experiences as a way to unlock value will end up being the wheat that is separated from the shiny object-oriented chaff. #AI #DATA #UOPX #EDTECH

"Our focus this year is mostly around the emerging landscape of artificial intelligence in education and how AI can and will be used both today and in the coming years. Obviously this is a rapidly developing and changing field. We learned from Claire Zau who is a partner at GSV and publishes an AI in education newsletter that is read by thousands. Claire’s explanation of what’s coming in AI literally blew my mind and it’s difficult to really comprehend the potential changes ahead."
