Today, in honor of the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the College Possible Wisconsin team participated in a day of service at Feeding America and helped distribute food and resources to those in need (we packed over 5,296 meals!). In keeping with Dr. King’s powerful words, “we cannot walk alone,” we are committed to making a collective impact. Today, we are raising funds for our Direct Student Aid, which provides one-time grants to students facing urgent financial setbacks. Whether it’s a car that breaks down, leaving a student unable to get to class, or an emergency medical bill that forces them to pause their studies, your gift can make all the difference in keeping them on track. ✨ ➡️ Click here to make a direct impact on a student’s life! https://lnkd.in/gaRBbYeX

Every Dream Needs a Spark. Right now, 662 McKinney ISD students are striving to rewrite their futures. Among them, 151 face financial barriers that meet federal standards. Native Forward Scholars Fund has been at the forefront of providing financial support to Native students for over five decades. Despite our efforts and success, we currently face a significant gap in funding, with only 18% of applicants receiving scholarships. This leaves 82% of our deserving students without the financial support they need to pursue higher education. Our mission is to address this unmet need and ensure that every Native student has the opportunity to achieve their educational goals. The scholarships we provide are not just financial aid; they are lifelines that empower students to break cycles of oppression, achieve career goals, and contribute back to their Tribal communities. The impact of our work is evident in the successes of our scholars, who have gone on to become leaders and change-makers in their fields. Join us in our mission to empower Native scholars and bridge the funding gap. Together, we can create a brighter future for all Native students. Donate now: https://ow.ly/6CUc50SnoT5

The America Reads program at Arizona State University’s Mary Lou Fulton College for Teaching and Learning Innovation (MLFC) recently hosted Operation Read, a book drive to benefit local Arizona communities. The team collected over 2,600 books that were distributed to three local schools and two Boys & Girls Clubs of America branches in Arizona. The effort was a collaboration between Arizona State University’s MLFC and BYU McKay School of Education. The drive was organized in conjunction with the ASU vs. BYU football game to collect books and raise funds for reading and literacy programs supported by ASU America Reads programs. America Reads at ASU partners with local schools and community centers to send teams of college student-tutors to pair with children from low-income areas at Title I schools. https://gofund.me/835aec3a Q: When is donating money to a fraternity a sensible decision? A: When higher education is under attack from extremism on every side fueled by a mass media and social media landscape that promotes conflict in order to weaken our institutions. When there is finally a push for the middle. When there is real optimism and progress toward bringing everyone together and putting the unity back into community. When there is a spark of hope that we are turning this thing around and returning to the values that make our country great. When we recognize that we are all stronger together no matter what our individual beliefs and that we owe it to one another to come together while respecting and embracing the issues that divide us. When we start to realize once again that diversity is a superpower and the American democracy is built upon differences in culture, differences in beliefs, and differences of opinion. When you realize that the institutions in our country that promote individual thought and academic freedom are the basis of our strength. When you see that our children are finally emerging from the cloud of Covid and learning again how to socialize and share their lives together. When you stop to remember how much the fraternities, teams, groups, organizations that were foundational in your college experience shaped the rest of your life. When it really matters. In other words... today.

National School Choice Week is a celebration of the power parents have to choose the education that's best for their children. At Arete Scholars, we've witnessed firsthand how this choice changes lives, opening doors to schools where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. School choice takes on many different forms. In the states Arete Scholars serves, tax credit scholarship programs allow our students to attend private schools that best fit their unique learning needs. In these states, scholarships are funded by private and corporate supporters who are eligible to receive a 95% to 100% state tax credit for their donations to Arete. These contributions directly fund scholarships, giving children access to schools that fit their unique needs. It's a win-win for all involved–creating access for children to attend the schools of their dreams while maximizing the impact of a donor's state tax liability. Are you curious about tax credit-funded scholarship programs? In search of new ways to serve our community missions, came across this non-profit Bright Kids and found their mission to a great new mantra, great purpose. 1100+ non profits in Nashville- here's a bit of their "Inside Story" We believe life is not a race to be finished, it is a dance to be danced. And only if we allow ourselves to enjoy the dance, can we let happiness in. Helping others may just be the secret to living a life that is not only happier but also healthier, more productive, and meaningful. We each carry gifts the world needs. It is not how much we give, but how much love we put into giving that counts. We believe educated children are at the heart of healthy, productive and prosperous societies. If that is the future we want tomorrow, we must invest today. Each child deserves the opportunity to dream more, learn more and ultimately create their own destiny. Today, we dare to make their dreams a reality. A hundred years from today future generations will say, “A few made the bold decision to take action. A few amongst many. They vowed to dedicate themselves to a single task – providing every child with access to quality early education. They faced many harsh realities and yet had unwavering faith in their end task. They put one foot in front of the other, with disciplined actions and sustained effort, and did the unimaginable - universal primary education.
