As our fall application window comes to a close on November 22, 2024, we would like to take a moment to formally introduce ourselves! Since opening in 2001, The College Academy at Broward College has been a transformative space where ambition meets opportunity. As the only full-time PUBLIC dual enrollment collegiate high school in Broward County, CA provides 11th and 12th-grade students with a life-changing opportunity: a head start at NO cost. 🏫 Why Choose CA? Students earn their high school diploma AND an Associate of Arts degree, graduating as members of the prestigious Robert "Bob" Elmore Honors College. Additionally, CA covers tuition, fees, and textbooks. Eligible students also benefit from free transportation. Further, with access to Broward College's advanced facilities, students enjoy state-of-the-art libraries, labs, and a dynamic campus environment that mirrors real college life. Our small school setting and nurturing atmosphere help students thrive academically, socially, and personally. 🌟 Opportunities Beyond Florida More than one-third of our graduates choose to attend universities outside of Florida, many receiving prestigious scholarships and transferring credits earned at CA. Our scholars have been accepted to and matriculated at some of the best universities across the country (and globe), including: Harvard University, Stanford University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Duke University, Princeton University, Brown University, The Johns Hopkins University, Cornell University, Georgia Institute of Technology…and MANY more. CA students are truly prepared to compete wherever their dreams may take them. 📚A Program Like No Other CA is more than an early college high school—it is a launchpad for success. With rigorous coursework, tailored guidance, and the chance to explore majors and career paths, students learn how to do college while going to college. 🌟Unique Opportunities for First-Gen Students Nearly half of our students are First Generation College Students, making CA a gateway to dreams for families across Broward County. These young scholars are breaking barriers, earning their AA degrees, and paving the way for brighter futures—often before turning 18! By earning an AA degree, our students have guaranteed admission as upper-division transfer students to Florida universities. Whether their goal is a bachelor's degree, professional career, or personal exploration, CA equips students with the tools to excel. 🌍 Diverse and Proud Our student body reflects the vibrancy of Broward County, celebrating a rich mosaic of religious, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds. At CA, every student belongs, every dream matters, and every journey inspires. 📅 Ready to Take the Leap? Visit us at https://lnkd.in/e3jekpNH to learn more about admissions and eligibility. 🌟 The College Academy at Broward College: Where a High School goes to College—and your Future Begins. #BCProud #BCPS

We’re thrilled to announce a new partnership with Blackfeet Community College (BFCC), creating pathways for students and employees to pursue fully online degrees while staying connected to their community. For WGU alum Skye Gilham, a proud member of the Blackfeet Tribe, this collaboration is deeply personal. Skye, a BFCC STEM instructor and WGU Distinguished Graduate Award recipient, uses her education to preserve Blackfeet traditions and mentor young leaders. “Education isn’t just about degrees,” Skye shared. “It’s about strengthening our community, preserving our history, and creating opportunities for the next generation.” This partnership reflects WGU’s commitment to expanding access to higher education in tribal communities while honoring their unique heritage. 📚 Read more about this inspiring collaboration here: https://lnkd.in/gvQmwFzC #WGU #HigherEducation #BlackfeetNation #CommunityEmpowerment #TribalColleges

❓ What Are Your School's 3 Greatest Strengths ❓ If you could boil down your school's strengths into just 3 points, what would they be? Why 3? We know that each of our schools does many things well, but imagine that you're giving an "elevator pitch" about your school. Time is limited, there's just not enough opportunity to share 4 or 5 things, so you pick your best 3. ⌛ Try it. It's a fun exercise and helps to formulate strategic points of emphasis and stories about our schools. 📜 Here's an example: At Fredericton Christian Academy 🦅 our 3 greatest strengths are: 1️⃣ Tremendous teachers who are passionate about their craft 2️⃣ Caring Christian community where students are known 3️⃣ Excellent experiences provided in an authentic Canadian environment One place that I share our 3 greatest strengths is with international families at education fairs. 📸 In my experience, families appreciate schools that know and leverage their strengths to benefit their children. 👍
