An exclusive event uniting the UK’s property and padel industries at a time of rapid growth for the sport that’s got the world talking. ▶ Padel - is widely considered the world’s fastest-growing sport, with a booming industry that is estimated to reach over $6m by 2026. The recent PLAYTOMIC Global Padel Report 2024 cited that 51 clubs opened weekly worldwide in 2023. The UK is considered one of the “big three” property markets in Europe, with an estimated 500 courts…and growing. That is, if the right land can be sought and developed.   ▶ Property - The UK Commercial Real Estate market continues to evolve across a number of sectors. One of the major challenges the padel industry faces is acquiring available land and navigating strict planning regulations. An update on what we've been seeing in the #Padel market in the United Kingdom. A few examples: 1. On 5 separate occasions, our clients have been speaking to the landlord for an indoor premises and after lengthy discussions, the landlord has decided to simply go ahead and do it themselves. 2. I had a call from a landlord recently who had put their warehouse on the market to lease and in 2 days, they had received 18 enquiries. Every single enquiry was from a Padel Operator. On the 2nd day they received an offer for over double the original price and on the 3rd day they decided to do it themselves. They had never heard of Padel prior to this. 3. A client of ours had identified a good location and reached out to the commercial property agent. The agent sent through information which contained drawings for Padel courts which our client had not commissioned. This meant to us, that another operator had found the site, commissioned site plans and decided that it was a non-starter. We then made an offer on behalf of our client and the commercial agent reached back out to the other operators who had initially declined to make an offer. We ended up losing this site to one of these other operators which tells us that they would rather move into a site that doesn't suit their model, than allow a new operator into this incredibly competitive space. This is happening an alarming amount of times, I've never experienced anything like it. We are currently working on nearly 300 Padel opportunities in the United Kingdom. I would say that 98% of them do not have a site confirmed or heads of terms in place. Topgolf lines up debut Welsh site: Topgolf, the golf and entertainment brand, is lining up its debut Welsh site. The company has lodged plans for the venue at Cardiff International Sports Village. Topgolf has applied to the city council to convert the former Toys R Us site, previously earmarked for a new Velodrome, reports Insider Media. Topgolf attractions offer hi-tech golf games along with food and drink, all-weather hitting bays and music. Topgolf currently operates four sites in the UK – in Addlestone in Surrey, Chigwell in Essex, Watford and Glasgow.

If you follow padel on other social channels, you will have come across a video somewhere of Stormzy playing padel. The investors keep coming...some big names in the public eye others less so.
