Clow Canada’s Post

❤️ Big hearts. Strong hands. Real impact. 📣 Big News for Romero House — and an Even Bigger Show of Community Support! Had the chance to join Rick Benoit – Clow Canada for a really special announcement — they’re stepping up in a big way with a $1.5M donation to help Romero House expand their facility. This is a game-changing investment that’ll help them keep up with the growing need in our city. Even better? Lindsay Construction, Marc Dixon , P.GSC — one of our amazing member contractors — is leading the work on this new build. This moment hits close to home. When Romero House’s current building went up back in 1990, it was the unionized construction industry that stepped up — contractors and skilled trades volunteering their time, tools, and talent to make it happen. No government funding, just heart and hard work. That spirit is still alive today, and it’s something I’m incredibly proud of. The unionized construction industry has always — and will always — lead with our commitment to community. Whether it’s building shelters, training apprentices, or supporting local causes, we show up! Romero House has been a lifeline in Saint John for over 40 years, serving meals 365 days a year to those who need it most. As Evelyn McNulty shared, the need is greater than ever — especially among seniors — and we all have a role to play. Huge thanks to Clow Canada for leading by example and helping Romero House start this exciting new chapter. #RomeroHouse #SaintJohn #CommunityBuilders #ClowCanada #GivingBack #SJCA #ConstructionCares ❤️🔥 🏗️ 🔨 👷

“Dream bigger”, he said! I just heard on CBC that when Rick Benoit asked Evelyn McNulty how his company could make a meaningful contribution as he approaches his retirement (and his company’s 12-year association with Romero House), Evelyn felt that new chairs to go with the tables the company had donated would be helpful. But he had something much bigger in mind. How wonderful that this ‘legacy project’ is also one that Romero House Founder, the late Carolyn McNulty, envisioned. Thanks to all who contribute, including each in the construction industry, each living the mission to help feed our city.
