The Little Food Festival starts today! Held at Fed Square (April 9–10), this free event welcomes 10,000 primary school-aged kids to explore how food shapes our health, environment and future — all through fun, play-based learning. Since the festival’s inception, Monash Nutrition, part of Clinical Sciences at Monash Health has been a proud partner – evaluating the event, leading the pickling tent, and creating crowd favourites like the ‘Ugly Food Game’, which encourages kids to celebrate imperfect fruits and veggies 🍎🥕. In partnership with Farm My School, students will also run the Farm Dash – a hands-on race against the clock tracing a tomato’s journey from paddock to plate. This year, Monash nutrition students are testing new approaches to evaluate the festival. They’re asking: How can fun, play-based education inspire and empower children to reimagine our future food system? 🌏🍽️ “The Little Food Festival is an invaluable opportunity for our students to engage with the community and apply their knowledge in meaningful ways,” said Dr Liza Barbour, Senior Lecturer, Monash Nutrition. “It’s a joy to see their enthusiasm and the positive impact they have. We hope to see you there!” 📍 Find out more: https://lnkd.in/g2D9CQM #LittleFoodFestival #FoodSystems #MonashNutrition #CommunityEngagement #MonashHealth #SchoolOfClinicalSciences #KidsInScience #FoodEducation
