So if $630 BILLION is needed to bring wastewater infrastructure up to todays standards how much is really needed to for the future and climate change ? In some places you get a chance every 20 years to rebuild, some cities it’s so hard you won’t get to rebuild for 50 to 100 years. So we need to build tomorrow’s infrastructure today to avoid slipping further behind.

Recently, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released a new report and survey estimating a $630 billion investment is needed over the next 20 years to modernize our nation’s #wastewater and #stormwater infrastructure, protect #WaterQuality, and comply with the Clean Water Act. The massive gap between available federal funds and the amount needed grows daily, highlighting a critical need for a strategic and #sustainable approach to infrastructure investment. As a regulated utility with a robust $1+ billion capital program through our parent company Essential Utilities, Inc., we’re committed to long-term planning and proactive investment in our #infrastructure. This ensures we can continue delivering high-quality drinking water and effectively manage wastewater, all while protecting our environment.
