There is one quote that has greatly Influenced me in my life of being involved in projects that have many naysayers explaining why It cannot be done. As Margaret Mead so aptly wrote,” Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed individuals can change the world. In fact, it is the only thing that ever has.” I believe that AquaAction fit that quote well 10 years ago ,but over time and with the help of a dedicated team we realize the complexity of solving fresh water issues needs the help and support of all Canadians. Today, I had the joy of sharing a meaningful lunch with the AquaAction team in Ottawa. A simple moment—yet full of purpose. Without these passionate, dedicated people, we simply wouldn’t be where we are today. Their behind-the-scenes work is what allows real, lasting solutions to emerge to protect the most precious resource we have: our freshwater. Every time I spend time with this team, I’m filled with pride… and with hope. Because progress doesn’t happen in isolation—it happens together. And that makes all the difference.
