Wrangling energy use across infrastructure as complex as SAWS is no small feat, and their commitment to reducing energy use and contributing to the city of San Antonio’s climate targets can be a model for similar large water systems across the United States. Their demand response and energy management initiatives have reduced peak demand by 7MW and saved over 10M kWh!
