💛years ago we learned that many of the families who have a child fighting cancer have to drive on average 2 hours to a hospital for treatments. We decided to try to alleviate this burden by starting our Fuel the Fight campaign. This September, the CMA team raised $40,343 to support families with children fighting pediatric cancer - helping to offset fuel cost, car repairs, and more. Through our “Fuel the Fight” campaign, every car sold at our dealerships contributed to this cause. Each CMA market chose a local beneficiary, including UVA Children's Hospital, ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation, WVU Medicine Children’s, and more. At CMA, our mission is Moving Lives Forward and we welcome you to join us in moving the lives forward of kids fighting their own battle with cancer. Thank you for helping us make a difference during Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month! 💛 #movinglivesforward #pediatriccancerawarenessmonth #fuelthefight https://lnkd.in/e3dPGx8X

In the month of September, my company promotes a dedicated community impact day. While many of our locations around the world are participating in community impact events and many Alkegen employees volunteer all year long, in September we take time to highlight and inspire. I love that this takes place in September, which is also pediatric cancer awareness month. Before the month is out, just one post about pediatric cancer. I’ll hit you with only 3 important bullets: 1. In the United States, only 4% of federal funding for cancer research is dedicated to pediatric cancer research. Children need different treatments than do adults, but little effort and funding is placed on investing in our future. 2. Every day, 46 children are diagnosed with cancer. 3. Every day, 7 children die from cancer. 7 families and communities are devastated. We cannot think of this as “only” 46 or “only” 7. The impact is infinitely concentric. If you don’t know how to make an impact in your community, start with the children. Donate your time or supplies to a Ronald McDonald house, a family grief center, or food security organization. Opportunities are abundant. The most important thing to remember about your efforts is that if you make impact on only one life, you have changed the world. Every minute you can give matters; every penny you can give matters. If you’d like to donate dollars or find out how to help, check out some of my favorite organizations: Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation Four Diamonds CHEMOWARRIOR THE ELI SIDLER FOUNDATION The Cure Starts Now Cancer Foundation

We are #GOINGGREY this May 🦾 Our aim is to raise awareness for pediatric brain cancer and support Zoe's Fight Foundation Inc. We’re thrilled to announce that this May, the Emmbr - formerly Marshall McAdam team is #goinggrey (stylishly)! This is a charity close to our hearts, and wearing grey is our way of raising awareness and trying to put an end to paediatric brain cancer. As always, we would love to get everyone to #jointhefight by following these steps this May: ☑️ Put on your grey outfit 🦾 #gogreyinMay ☑️ Snap a selfie 🤳 ☑️ Post it on your socials (LinkedIn, IG or Facebook) 👍 ☑️ Tag Emmbr - formerly Marshall McAdam and Zoe's Fight Foundation Inc. 💵 For EVERY photo tagging us posted, we will make a donation to Zoe’s Fight Foundation to help fund research to find a cure for paediatric brain cancer! 💥What's new this year? Here to make a difference. Join us in the fight against ovarian cancer, often referred to as the silent killer. We cannot afford to remain silent when it comes to raising awareness and crucial funds for research. Your support is essential in helping us create a significant impact. Ovarian cancer is a grave concern, with around 1,815 new diagnoses each year in Australia and approximately 1,000 lives lost annually to this disease. Sadly, ovarian cancer research is significantly underfunded, especially for rarer types like Granulosa Cell Tumour, which can impact females of all ages, from babies to those going through menopause. This makes our mission more urgent than ever. At Rare Ovarian Cancer (ROC Inc) we are dedicated to supporting vital research to change the narrative. Every contribution, no matter the amount, brings us one step closer to breakthroughs in research and treatment. By donating today or signing up for a monthly donation, you are directly supporting efforts to find better ways to diagnose, treat, and ultimately cure ovarian cancer. Your generosity can save lives. Click here to donate and become a part of a movement for change. Let's stand together and make a difference. https://lnkd.in/gBx466S5 #rockforroc #gctresearch #jgct #makeadifference #granulosacelltumor #childhoodcancer

This is my sister in law Stacey. She is 34. She was a breast cancer survivor… and then got thrown the brain tumour card. As if that wasn’t cruel enough, she was then hit with the triple threat - terminal brain cancer. This has been a 3-year battle. She has fought it with my brother-in-law John and their daughter Lily by their side. They live in Sydney and are fortunate to have some family there. We are in Perth - the rest of their family are in Ireland. There have been GoFundMe pages set up over the years to help cover the cost of trial drugs and treatment. None of which have been a “cure” for this incomprehensible disease. This attempt at crowd funding is for a much more tangible reason. Stacey is no longer receiving active treatment. She is in palliative care. She is somewhat comfortable (thanks to morphine). But she knows, and those around her know, that this is now end of life. How long? “Days to weeks”. So my eldest daughter Trinity and I wanted to raise funds FAST. For one reason only - to buy TIME. To allow John to stop working now so he can spend these last moments with her. To provide him and Lily with the option to retreat from the world when they need to - and to give them some freedom in having a choice. You see, the Cancer has taken most of their life choices away from them. Like the big white wedding they had planned. The international travel. Even the local trips to Perth to see us were ruled out due to Stacey’s condition and the financial reality. So for one last time, if you know me or if you don’t, perhaps you can relate in some way. As a cancer victim; or survivor? As the carer or family member of someone fighting the disease. As the widow or child or someone lost to cancer. Or as the friend who has stepped in when times were tough - for a neighbour, a school family or a work colleague. It might be the cost of your weekly coffee indulgence. It might be the fuel bill when your car is running on empty. It could be the value of your groceries. Or maybe it’s just some of the disposable income you might be saving for a rainy day. It is a very rainy day - and any contribution will help this young family - my family - to buy some moments to create some memories - and find some peace. To those who have already donated, you are Angels.

Did you know? only 4% of federal funding goes to pediatric cancer research. 🌟 Last night, Armas had the privilege of attending the Liv Like A Unicorn gala, an event that truly highlighted the urgent need to support families facing pediatric cancer. No child should ever have to endure the pain of illness; they are meant to be free-spirited and carefree. Liv Like A Unicorn stands as a beacon of hope, continuing the legacy of their beautiful Liv by providing essential support to families in similar situations. Through their Unicorn Boxes, they bring moments of joy to children in the hospital, and their financial assistance eases the burden for families during these challenging times. Every donation goes directly to families battling pediatric cancer, ensuring that they receive the help they desperately need. Let’s work together to create a world where every child can focus on being a child. 💛 #LivLikeAUnicorn #PediatricCancerAwareness #SupportFamilies
