Hey Y'all!! Although I’m DEVASTATED about my #AlabamaCrimsonTide 🐘🏈 swallowing the rat poison and taking a tough loss this weekend, I’m still excited to talk about my other passion: #Recruiting! Let’s shift gears and dive into how I’m helping businesses in the food and beverage industry find the perfect fit for their teams. 🍽️ Fun Fact: Did you know the average food manufacturing plant employs 173 people? 🤯 Whether it’s production line roles, quality control, maintenance/engineering, or corporate positions, hiring in the food and beverage industry isn’t just about filling spots—it’s about building a team that keeps the entire supply chain moving. 🚜🌾 But here’s the challenge: finding the right people who fit both the job and your company’s culture. That's where we come in. At Cross Resource Group, we act as an extension of your talent acquisition team, not competition. Our goal is simple: to streamline your hiring process for both plant-level and corporate positions—whether it’s a contract role or a long-term hire. Why partner with us? In light of some upcoming exciting news, we are hiring for two positions at Leaf & Grain. Please share with anybody who may be interested! 1. Head of HR (Director) Leaf & Grain is a 130-person (and imminently growing) company. Our high-level strategy is “People, then Product, then everything else,” so this person is in charge of the company’s #1 priority. The Head of HR shepherds the employee lifecycle from Hiring to Training to Ongoing Engagement to Advancement, and is responsible for work satisfaction, culture, and adherence to standards. More on working at Leaf & Grain more generally at bottom! 2. Director, Operations and Strategy This role has a good balance of getting stuff done and analytical work, often taking the results of analysis and implementing change based on the takeaways. The ideal candidate for this role is hard-working, practical and effective, detail-oriented, and a great “ambiguous path” problem-solver who is willing to get their hands dirty. The biggest difference between what we do and consulting or other services sector roles is the focus on (and satisfaction of) implementation and seeing projects from start to finish. ---------- Both roles are in-person in Houston, TX. About L&G: Leaf & Grain is a fast casual restaurant company anchored in the health & wellness space, selling primarily salads and grain bowls. Opened in 2017 and operating 4 restaurants, we are at an exciting stage in our lifecycle. We’ve built a proven model and developed robust systems and operating principles that will help ensure our continued success as we put our foot back on the accelerator from a growth standpoint. Attractive Dynamics of the Job: 1. Satisfying work a. Impact: Constant impact. No bureaucracy. We are only interested in the best answer. b. Seeing projects start to finish: Identify problem >> work out a solution >> trial solutions >> see results of your work >> establish protocols for the future 2. No day is the same. a. Variability in day-to-day work and constant intellectual stimulation with new problems, projects, and analyses. b. Breadth of projects: pricing analysis to marketing strategy to 6-sigma work to recipe testing to standardizing operating procedures to real estate research and so on. 3. Ownership work a. There is a big difference between how you think about work when you’re building something you have a stake in vs. work as an obligation. b. First-hand experience seeing what it takes to own and operate your own business without the risks of the start-up phase. 4. Autonomy & accelerated responsibility levels 5. The result of all of the above is unparalleled, experiential learning. 6. Great culture founded on three things: Ethics, humility, and a positive, can-do attitude Anybody can email me at hoffman.deets@eatLG.com. We are thrilled to bring more awesome people onto our ownership team. It's an exciting time to be joining Leaf & Grain!

I know nothing about finance. It didn't interest me as a student. Reading is meant for words, not numbers, I scoffed. It didn't tickle my fancy as a professional. Finance is the report card, I am optimising for the journey, I grumbled. But humans have this peculiar skill of having good taste even in areas of poor skill. I know a great finance professional and team when I see one. Vinit Bandi is many things I aspire to be: empathetic, razor sharp, learning oriented, generous. He runs an amazing finance function for The Whole Truth Foods Vinit is looking to add to his team: amongst other things, he's looking to add to the CFO's office. I could tell you about the role and org and coffee but really, this is about getting to work with Vinit. That's the selling point. Unfortunate obligatory clarification since yesterday: No, we won't donate your salary to charity. Yes, we will pay you instead. If you're interested and are a CA with 5 years of work experience, send your resume to people@thewholetruthfoods.com with the subject line: I'm a numbers poet. With the resume, just answer one question: What's the most important financial statement to read for an org, and why? We will get back with a response to all emails, even if it might take a while. If this isn't for you, do repost to your network and help someone find the job they will look back upon as one of the best times of their career. #hiring #finance #openroles #jobpost
I am hiring for a CFO Office's role at The Whole Truth Foods. In a fast growing start up, the role of the finance function is to have one eye on the present to enable business, but to also have one eye on the future, setting up the systems and processes and clearing bottlenecks for future breakneck growth opportunities. The role is by definition, not well defined :) The brief is to enable me and build the finance function to do whatever the org needs to continue growing sustainably while never wavering from our mission. The role will have 360 degree view of the company strategy and how it translated to actions, and will be responsible for chunks of it. From some introspection, I believe that my FP&A background at AB InBev helped me take on the dynamic and evolving role at The Whole Truth, and hence people with FP&A background will be preferred for the role. If you're interested, write to people@thewholetruthfoods.com with the subject line "I will do what it takes". Attach your resume, and answer one question: What's the most important financial statement for a company, and why do you think that is the case? If this post isn't speaking to you, do consider reposting it, in case it helps someone find a role of their life. #hiring #thewholetruth #Finance #jobpost #comeworkwithme #rocketship

Industry Specific Knowledge – Is it really a big deal? We work within FMCG, meaning that most of our clients work on manufacturing physical products and there is a lot that goes into the planning, production, sales and marketing of said products. So, when we talk about hiring with industry specific knowledge or exposure, Finance is something that could be overlooked because people who work in Finance are only focused on numbers right? Maybe. Here are some reasons why there is an advantage to applying for roles you have industry experience in: ✨ An awareness of internal structure and how a finance department meets their operational needs makes for an easier transition. ✨ Having an understanding of industry nuances and common occurrences can make for better planning and effective problem solving within the department. ✨ Knowing who to talk to within other departments makes operations smoother and can help avoid future issues. I’m not saying that it’s impossible to do well in an industry you have no exposure to and I’m sure it takes a lot more than being from an industry background to be a great asset to a finance department. BUT - is there an advantage to applying to roles you have industry exposure to? I would like to think so. #recruitment #financejobs #fmcg #imhiring
