My 2 cents on whatever they just called slop coding aka what it means from my personal experience with Chat-GPT. Beyond the Hype: The Tipping Point of Al Dependency in Software | And the Infinite Turtle Stack of Al https://lnkd.in/ghRVHTJa

"Vibe coding" is a fantasy. Slop coding is worse. There’s a better way to use AI in programming, but most people are using it in the laziest way possible. Years after the first codegen products came out, companies are still confusing software engineering and programming. My biggest question is whether these teams *know* AI as a SWE replacement doesn't work, and they're just being dishonest in the spirit of selling their startup, or they really think the code produced by a Cursor is production-worthy. I learned about "vibe" and "slop" coding last week (sorry guys, I'm not on Twitter), when I sat down with Perla Gámez, Co-Founder & CEO of foam. Here's a sneak peek of our podcast episode, where we chat about the value of software, the role of a software engineer, and what actually works vs. what doesn't.
