The NOHFC internship program has supported Sudbury's own BadRiverBoats in providing hands-on learning experiences. Guy's team leveraged this funding to strengthen the Northeastern marine industry by creating skilled opportunities for local talent.

Internships - so valuable for what they bring to both the individual and the organization.
As we see more interns "graduating" from our internship program we have very mixed feelings as an organization. While it has been refreshing to hear their different views and learn from the projects they have been involved in, we are sad to see them go and look forward to them reconnecting with us when they graduate. Always good to be learning, questioning and recalibrating views. Thank you Tomo Ishikawa and Truman Leung and all the best with your continued studies.

The first week of summer vacation for my kids is here. We're gearing up for summer camps and activities. This time of year takes me back to my college internship, where I ran sports camps for the local YMCA. We started and ended each day by reviewing the core values: Caring Respect Honesty Responsibility. We would talk about these as we opened the day, and at the end of the day, we would ask if anyone saw any of the campers displaying these behaviors. Those who did were rewarded with a little prize and a round of applause. If organizations reward and recognize core values, they will continue to permeate through the organization. Think about what behaviors are being rewarded and emulated and which ones you want to be magnified.

Internships can provide once in a lifetime opportunities. Maryland Gov. Wes Moore is promoting the chance to experience working in government. Whether it's local, state, or federal government, internships provide individuals the opportunity to serve the public, learn the intricacies of governance, network, and start to build one's legacy. For those considering a public service career, wanting to be a more productive citizen, or generally desiring to improve one's community (local to global), contemplate what an internship could do for you. #politicalinternships #government #politics
We're excited to announce that applications for the Governor's Summer Internship Program are now open! If you're a University of Maryland Baltimore County student looking to leave your fingerprints on our state and work with our Administration, submit your application between now and March 1.
