🔻Beyond the Paperwork – Envisioning Your Nonprofit's Impact In my recent conversation with Dr. Victoria Boyd on the most recent episode of Mission: Impact podcast, she made the important point that for those starting a nonprofit - it's about a lot more than the paperwork! 📝 ✨ So before you dive into forms and legalities, ask yourself: What problem am I truly solving? What is the change I wish to see? And, is there a real need for my organization? It starts with a vision🔮. Marketing, branding, and a solid understanding of the community's needs come first. ✨ Before taking the leap, consider the problem you're passionate about solving. This reflection is crucial because your 'why' is not just your guiding star — it's what attracts your tribe: your team, your donors, your community. These foundational questions are what set the stage for meaningful impact. What is your why for your work❓ #NonprofitLeadership #MissionDriven #SocialImpact _________________________________ 👋Hi, I’m Carol Hamilton I help nonprofit organizations set priorities, increase their internal alignment and get clear about their why, what and how. 🧠My whole-brain, whole-organization approach combines left-brain strategy and analysis with right-brain wisdom about human complexities through which every stakeholder thrives.🙋🏻♀️ ✉️Reach out to talk. 🔔 Or follow me here on LinkedIn ___________________________________

These are very insightful pointers! In addition, Identifying alignment between the organization's needs the volunteer's motivation goes a long way in building a long term relationship.
There’s a hidden reason your fundraising is suffering… According to research shared in Lisa Z G. ‘s newest book, volunteers give 10X what those who don’t volunteer give. But in many nonprofits the volunteer experience sucks. Your volunteer experience, just like your employee experience, must be carefully cultivated for success. But if you see volunteers simply as free labor and not strategic relationships, you’ll never get this right. And when you get it wrong, it negatively impacts your brand reputation and your ability to generate philanthropic impact. Ultimately this comes down to culture. And culture is all about your leadership. Or your lack there of. Can’t wait to get Lisa’s take on this in our upcoming podcast conversation!

Our 10th Episode is out! Peter York and I have worked for a number of CEOs over the years and heard many stories from colleagues that are reflected in this episode. We could have called this Episode: Nonprofit CEOs: The Good, the Bad and the Awful, but instead Peter found a more pithy name: "Unethical, Incompetent, or Just Plain Not Nice: Dealing with Bad Nonprofit CEOs". However, there are good ones too! We talk about all of that and what to do to minimize the bad. Have a listen! https://lnkd.in/eNENGTFX

I love the description in this podcast episode of why she pivoted to longer-term fractional work. Switch out "fundraising results" with communication and I could have said it myself: "I would give them all these great ideas and nothing would happen between meetings....what if, instead of just giving advice or ideas - which works for a lot of organizations, but particularly small ones - they need that, but that's not enough. They actually need the implementation. The fundraising results come from doing the work consistently and that's what was missing." https://lnkd.in/ejWv6KDh #fractional #communication #nonprofitcommunication

Episode 25 features an inspiring conversation with Kevin Wilkins, the CEO of Trepwise, as he dives deep into "Defining Sustainable Non-Profit Success." Kevin's journey from a career in financial services to becoming a strategic nonprofit consultant is remarkable. In this episode, Kevin sheds light on the importance of intentionality in career choices and shares his insights on fostering meaningful work that benefits the community. Here are three key takeaways from our discussion: 🔑 Key Takeaways: Intentional Career Pathways: Kevin emphasizes the significance of making deliberate career choices that align with personal values and the broader goal of making a positive impact. He discusses how younger generations are increasingly driven by the desire to contribute to societal good through their work. Philanthropic Strategies in Business: He encourages organizations to integrate philanthropic efforts into their core values and align these initiatives with their vision. Businesses can create lasting community impacts by focusing on the triple bottom line of people, planet, and profit. This approach also enhances employee satisfaction, even when salaries might be lower. Focus on Incremental Progress in Nonprofits: Kevin shares insights into how nonprofit work is often about incremental progress and coordination rather than solving all problems outright. He talks about supporting culture bearers, addressing mental health in educational institutions, and tackling food insecurity through collaborative efforts. This episode is a must-listen for anyone interested in creating a meaningful and sustainable business path, whether in nonprofit or for-profit sectors. Tune in to explore Kevin's remarkable journey and strategic insights, and get inspired with a purpose-driven mindset! 🌍💼✨ 🎧 Listen to the full episode here: https://bit.ly/3Cyzppz #TransformationalThinkers #SaraSheehanCoaching #BusinessPodcast #StrategicPlanning
