Working in a nonprofit, in my experience, is all about limited resources and the constant balancing act of prioritizing tasks—an art you learn every day. Every hour of our team members' and volunteers' time is invaluable. ⏳ A few months ago, Victoria Valikova came to me with an idea to help lighten the load for our recruiters: creating a universal video for potential volunteers. This video will explain Health & Help Charity organization, our clinics, and what volunteers should expect, helping them form a realistic picture before committing. With this video, our volunteer recruiters will save an hour of additional meetings with each potential volunteer—and believe me, that makes a big difference. Of course, I loved the idea, fully supported it, and started thinking about how I could make it happen given our very limited resources.🥲 After months of work, the video is now ready and live on YouTube! I think it turned out pretty well. If you or anyone you know has thought about joining us, or if you're simply curious about how we operate, please take a moment to watch it. I also want to send a huge thank you to Roman Ivanov, our video editor, who even had his MacBook burn out 🔥💻🔥🤖 during the editing process but still pulled through and finished the video for us—and for our future volunteers. Here is the link to the video ➡️ https://lnkd.in/dHN4ZQFu Your comments and likes are more than welcome!🙌🏼 #Volunteering #Nonprofit #HeHeTeam #VolunteerOpportunities #MakingADifference #timemanagement

The WeNaija Voice Your Change campaign remains a pivotal part of our year and as we close out the year, it is important to reflect on how much we were able to achieve with this campaign with the support of our community, partners, and sponsors. Working in the public health space, capturing the true impact of our work can sometimes prove difficult. However, if we were to measure the impact of the WeNaija Voice Your Change campaign in numbers, here is what it would look like. #WeNaijaVoiceYourChange #Impact #NonprofitinNigeria

I had the privilege of speaking at the Families USA Health Action Conference alongside an incredible panel of philanthropic leaders, including Ann Rodgers from Grantmakers In Health, Katie Beckmann, PhD, MPH, from the The David and Lucile Packard Foundation, and Jennifer Ng'andu from RWJF. Together, we discussed potential shifts in philanthropy this year and beyond. At Arnold Ventures, we remain focused on addressing the systemic issues driving up health care costs, making care unaffordable and inaccessible. Through research, policy development, and other support, we’re working to help policymakers understand and tackle the driving forces behind these rising costs. While federal policy often dominates the headlines, we’re doubling down on state-level reforms, where we see opportunities for meaningful progress on address health care costs. Strategic, data-driven policies at the state level can pave the way for solutions that lower costs and improve access to care. High health care costs remain a top concern for most Americans, and this issue will continue to guide our work as we push for sustainable reforms. Let’s keep the momentum going.
