This week marks a deeply concerning moment for the LGBTQ+ community across the UK. The Supreme Court's ruling that the legal definitions of "man" and "woman" under the Equality Act 2010 refer exclusively to biological sex assigned at birth has significant implications for trans, intersex, and non-binary individuals as well as the potential to impact cis women who deviate from the standard norm of what a woman is deemed to look like. While the Court reaffirmed that trans people remain protected under the Equality Act's provisions against discrimination based on gender reassignment , this decision may affect access to single-sex spaces and services, potentially leading to increased exclusion and harm. We stand in solidarity with all those impacted by this ruling. Our commitment to advocating for equal rights and inclusion for every member of the LGBTQ+ community remains unwavering. We will continue to amplify and support the LGBTQ+ community in its entirety.
