Breakthrough T1D’s Post

It’s hard to imagine a more tireless and effective champion for the type 1 diabetes (T1D) community than Senator Jeanne Shaheen. Fueled by the diagnosis of her granddaughter, she has fought relentlessly in Congress alongside her Senate Diabetes Caucus co-chair, Senator Susan Collins, to ensure the Federal government is doing all it can for every American with #T1D. So many of our landmark advocacy achievements could not have happened without her. On behalf of Breakthrough T1D and the entire T1D community, thank you, Senator Shaheen, for being an incredible partner in our mission to cure T1D. Senator Shaheen has been an amazing champion -- a strategic and passionate leader fighting on a bipartisan basis for #cures and #access to better healthcare for people with #T1D and many more. The #patient community will miss her when she retires at the end of her term but applaud her amazing impact as a State Senator, Governor, and U.S. Senator -- truly a model of public service. I was honored to have the chance to work with her and her family -- all amazing #advocates!
