100-m tall rocket with 7 first-stage engines fired successfully. This one is all cryogenic too: LNG & LOX; LH2 & LOX. “The first stage (GS1) tanks were filled and pressed with liquefied natural gas (LNG) and liquid oxygen (LOX), and the second stage (GS2) with liquid hydrogen (LH2) and liquid oxygen” #LH2

Today in History (TIH): The de Havilland DH.106 Comet, hailing from the UK, broke new ground as the first commercial jet to hit the skies in 1949. With its sleek design, tucked-away engines, and pressurized comfort, it was a game-changer in 1952, offering quiet, comfy flights. But just when it was taking off, tragedy struck. Three Comets faced catastrophic failures within a year, leading to a halt and a deep dive into what went wrong. Turns out, metal fatigue and some design missteps like square windows and bad riveting were the culprits. This led to a major design overhaul and some hard-earned lessons for the whole aviation industry. Despite the rocky start, the Comet made a comeback with its series 4 in 1958, flying until 1981 and even taking on military roles, from VIP transport to surveillance. Its legacy, through the Hawker Siddeley Nimrod, lingered in the Royal Air Force until 2011, showcasing the Comet's lasting impact a good 60 years after its debut.

Know what a CJ is? You really should...Here's why... They make up around 10% of the world’s biz jets! From the CJ1 to the CJ4 Gen 2, there are 1,854. Add another 338 of the original Citation Jet which evolved into the CJ to the CJ1+ to the M2 today. For the next 7 weeks I’m looking at the market for all of them. The overall light jet market stands at 6.9% availability. Will each CJ market be more or less than 6.9%? Next week's #JetMarketMonday - Expect the CJ1+. A link to last week's CJ market in the comments. 🛩 🛩 🛩 If you like or need to learn about the business jet market, you will love my newsletter - Biz Jet Buzz 🛩 🐝 Read all about the 'Great Pandemic-Induced Biz Jet Boom' (6 mins) in the latest issue here: https://lnkd.in/exTM4qgq
