This Giving Tuesday, I'm in awe of what we've built together at Grassroots Grocery—and even more excited about where we're headed. What started in my classroom as a middle school teacher in the Bronx has grown into something extraordinary. Every Saturday, in an empty parking lot in the Bronx, something magical happens. Neighbors show up for neighbors. Families show up for families. Volunteers, old and new, work shoulder to shoulder — moving 15,000 pounds of fresh produce to 1,500 households in Harlem and the Bronx — all before lunch. It's not just about the food—it's about the connections, the joy, and the power of a community united by one simple idea: neighbors helping neighbors. The need is growing, and so must we.  Only one in four of our food insecure neighbors can access the help that’s available to them.   That's why we're launching our boldest plan yet: the Deliver Double Campaign: 🚛 Double the produce. 🚗 Double the drivers. 🤝 Double the community reach. And thanks to $125,000 in matching funds, every single dollar you give until the ball drops will go twice as far to fuel this movement.
