Yesterday marked a pivotal moment in my journey to becoming an accredited Executive Coach through Meyler Campbell‘s Mastered Programme as we entered the second half of our program. It’s amazing how much the depth of our discussions has changed, allowing us to delve deeper into our learning experiences. I can scarcely believe that next year we too will be graduating as the 2024 cohort did last night. What I am particularly enjoying about coaching is the focus on supporting others in finding their own paths to success. It’s not about giving advice or sharing knowledge; it’s about providing leaders with a structured way of thinking that can help break down problems and accelerate development. That said, much of what I am learning relates to my personal journey towards becoming the leader that I aspire to be. I am convinced that in a world of rapid and disruptive change, a manager’s role can no longer be to direct and decide alone—we cannot have all the right answers. Leaders will succeed by drawing out the best in their teams, who will, in turn, learn to adapt and generate fresh, innovative ideas more quickly. So, a few observations from my journey so far: - Listening is the ultimate superpower 🦸. It allows others to feel fully seen and heard while also providing us with valuable insights. It’s also incredibly difficult. - Words, 📖 even chosen in haste, often uncover underlying truths. Clarifying and exploring these phrases can help us find new paths forward. - Learning is a lifelong journey. Changing behavior is challenging, but even small steps can lead to a more significant transformation. I’m grateful to my wonderful group (my fellow Vikings) for their support and shared wisdom on this adventure: Mark Carnegie-Brown, Tim Wakefield, Dominic Ely, Eva Sarma, Sophie Kent and our leaders Keith Krasny and Catherine Devitt For more on coaching as a leader, I recommend the HBR article—see the link below in the comments. #meylercampbell #leadership #vikings
Congratulations to our 2024 Graduates! Last night at Merchant Taylors' Company in London, we were joined by graduates of both the Meyler Campbell Mastered and Unlimited programme to congratulate them on their success and completion of the programme(s). They were surrounded by their family and friends, as well as fellow Meyler Campbell Alumni from previous years, and the Meyler Campbell Faculty team and management team. And a big thank you to our guest speaker David Morley who closed our Graduation ceremony so wonderfully. Once again, congratulations to all. Photographer: David Levenson

I’m finishing my 4th week at CodeSignal and it’s been a whirlwind of new people, ideas, and culture. I’m traveling home from my first onsite with them and I’d like to reflect a bit on what brought me here. Back in 2013, web development was seeing a bit of a revolution as we moved from static, back-end, technologies to heavy front-end focused “Single Page Applications” (SPAs). My good friend Dennis Burton and I were doing a lot with these budding technologies and trying to figure out a fun and exciting way to teach the concept to others. We came up with a full-day CodeMash Conference workshop (hundreds of learners) with an accompanying application called Choose Your Own Application. It took inspiration from the well-loved childhood book series to let the learner make choices as they built a full-blown application. The learner was given the opportunity to choose their frontend framework (Backbone or Knockout… it was 2013), their language (JavaScript or CoffeeScript… see 2013), their backend framework (Node.js, Rails, or ASP.NET), and their deployment platform (Heroku or Azure). There were dozens of permutations. It was a LOT of content. A LOT to test. The experience was VERY well received. I was so honored and humbled by the number of people who learned that day. After it was done, we asked: can we scale this to other content paths? We laughed it off and said “nah, that was fun but it would be too much work”. If you know me, I get my energy from helping other people learn things. That’s why I joined Khan Academy and stayed with them for 8 years. Ultimately, it’s what led me to take the Director of Content and Content Platform at CodeSignal. Although it’s not _exactly_ the same thing, I’m a part of a team now that is scaling the ideas behind Choose Your Own Application. CodeSignal Learn (https://lnkd.in/gXHuMEKQ) is the most innovative technical learning platform I’ve seen yet. We’re developing content at a VERY fast pace and we will for a very long time. Unlike static video or blog-base learning, we have a PRACTICE-based platform with an AI teacher/tutor named Cosmo (a space corgi!). It’s all about mastery-based learning inside the browser IDE and Cosmo guiding you the entire way. The entire experience is in a single place. I have only been here 4 weeks and I’m already extremely proud of what we’re building. Watch this space. We have some amazing content coming your way.
We had a great time this week in Denver, CO! ✨ The week was filled with insightful sessions, thought-provoking discussions, and amazing cross-team collaboration 🎉 We're looking forward to what's next!

Low-hanging fruits are the tastiest of all fruits. I know I've been guilty of overcomplicating forms by using multiple call-to-actions or multi-step opt-ins in the past... decision paralysis is a real conversion killer. I love this simple example of how Bev and her team tweaked their call to action, application steps and follow-up process to dramatically improve the conversion rate of their website. Bev Bury and I recently caught up for a great chat about her role as the CMO at Flinders University. I love the clever things Bev and the team have done to grow their brand over the past couple of years. I especially enjoyed Bev's insights into how her team has lent into the challenger brand aspect of Flinders University. Check out some great examples of how this approach impacts their content and how they communicate with prospects and students in the full interview below 👇

What financial wellness tools does your workforce have on their wishlist? Yesterday, our VP of Sales and Partnerships visited Schwarz Partners in Indiana, and got an inside look at their thoughtfully designed workforce solutions. It’s inspiring to see companies like Schwarz evaluating innovative ways to support their employees’ financial wellness. #HR #FinancialWellness #EmergencySavings
Payroll-deducted employer-matched Emergency Savings as a Benefit. HR can’t be FEMA forever🛟- Let’s build the levee$. | YouPowered 2025 Leader of the Year 🏆 | 🎨Artist |🏑Coach | 🐞Lover | IVF Mama of 3 | 🎤Speaker |
I got the grand tour today at Schwarz Partners, LP by the one and only Sue Seitz, CPA. The innovations they’ve implemented into their growing company are a testament to their dedication to their workforce. And some corporate structures are more complex than others - this one indeed has some complexities to it! 😉 But their set up - from policies to benefits and everything in between - has been intentionally and thoughtfully designed to prioritize their very diverse workforce. It’s a big job. And Sue works with the precision and execution of someone who believes good enough isn’t good enough. It’s companies like this that will always be early adopters of new technologies and improvements. I knew from our previous Zoom calls that they had a great team of problem solvers, determined to making an impact. But finally meeting them IRL today in Carmel, IN really made their dedication to performance and culture shine. 🥶 Thanks for the coffee, Sue - next time, diet cokes in the warm sunshine!☀️
