Exciting news on our northern corridor! BNSF and connecting partners Norfolk Southern (NS) and The Northwest Seaport Alliance (NWSA) have announced the collaboration of a 3-day faster service product for inland point intermodal (IPI) traffic from the Pacific Northwest, destined to and connecting through Chicago and beyond. The redesigned train plan will encompass the NWSA building trains in less than 2 days dwell off the dock. The seamless hand-off across our Northern Transcon route enables faster transit and better consistency for cargo shippers. The total time from ship to Chicago will be 6 days, the fastest from any PNW gateway in North America. Full release with more details about how the collaboration will work at https://bit.ly/42aCV2I. #intermodal #freight #logistics #supplychain

6 days from ship to Chicago: About 2,064 miles close to BNSF's route per Google Maps (which also says the driving time is 30 hours). That's 344 miles per day average, 14.3 MPH. Not impressive.
