As a Founder, I get 50+ DMs every day. 99% of them miss. Why? 👇 Most outbound that hits my inbox fails because of: 1. CONTEXT What tech are they using? What are they hiring for? What problems are they solving? 2. REAL PERSONALIZATION Not "I saw you raised $5M!" But understanding their actual needs. Their real priorities. 3. TIMING When did they visit your site? What are they researching? What signals intent NOW? I got this message yesterday: "👋 Jeff, saw you posted about AI! Let's chat about our AI solution..." Super generic. Referenced outdated data points. Meanwhile, I'm building an AI company. Zero research done. Zero context. But when someone reaches out about: - A specific problem we're solving - A role we're actively hiring - A technology we're evaluating They have my attention. This is why every sales team needs AI Sales Agents. What's interesting is that many AI startups have already been selling similar products—they’ve gathered customer feedback and made it their core focus from day one. It raises the question: will this big player move quickly enough, or risk falling into the same pattern as companies like Google, which often acquire new tech only to see it fade? This highlights a key issue: companies that started with AI at their core are winning over clients because their offerings are fundamentally built around AI, not just added on later. It’ll be fascinating to watch how this plays out and see if this established company can catch up in an AI-driven market.
