$100m per year for 10 years to small shipyards? The SHIPS for America Act would make that happen. Introduced today, the SHIPS for America Act is comprehensive legislation to revitalize US shipbuilding and commercial maritime industries. Already with over 70 organizations supporting it (including the Small Shipyard Grant Coalition), sponsors Kelly and Young (in the Senate) and Kelly and Garamendi (in the House) look to build momentum and move this in the next Congress. I have witnessed the vital role and impact that small shipyards provide to the United States economy. The SHIPS for America Act is an extensive bill that addresses the long-neglected under-investment in the domestic shipbuilding industry. This bill will provide an abundance of opportunities and benefits for the merchant marine and small shipyards across the United States to expand capacity and invest in workforce development to compete competitively on a global scale. As we approach the incoming Trump Administration in 2025, I hope that this bill will open the pathway to discussion and be acknowledged with bipartisan support in Congress. The SHIPS for America Act will incentivize growth and strengthen the United States' maritime policy which I fully endorse! #SHIPSforAmericaAct
