Blend AEC ’s Post

We worked on a project in San Diego, California: a 1,059,000 SF mixed-use building with a wide-ranging program — 153 hotel rooms, 53 single rooms occupancy units, 50 condominiums units, 125 apartments, and 34 affordable housing units. As with any large-scale project in its early development stages, the key was coordination and communication with the client’s team. In addition, the variety of uses required an efficient #BIM strategy—one capable of handling both the repetition of elements across different building levels and the integration of multiple variations and exceptions, enabling real-time collaboration among several users. One of our strategies was to model the building envelope separately from the start. This allowed us to work in parallel, optimize resources, and prevent interferences between teams. Proud of what we accomplished! ➡️ Learn more about this project here: https://lnkd.in/dbH4nDg3
