💦 Innovobot today announced an investment in Oneka Technologies, a wave-powered, electricity and GHG-free desalination company based in Sherbrooke, Quebec. The company offers an all-in-one desalination system for coastal communities, industries and resorts which provide drinking water anywhere from 100 to 3000 people a day depending on consumption. The buoys are easy to deploy anywhere from 0.2km to 5km offshore, with the water being pumped to shore through filters and reverse osmosis membranes to obtain high quality drinking water. They are easy to maintain, and provide drought-proof, clean water supply at a fixed cost. 💧 Clients can either purchase the system upfront, or partner with Oneka's ''water-as-a-service'' model, with no upfront capital cost or operation and maintenance risks to bear and Oneka charging only for the supplied water volume. BE Fellows project HyperHeat, has secured €3.5 million in a recent funding round.
