Energizing second day at KLAS Research summit at Park City. Awesome keynote by Nina Kottler, MD, MS of Radiology Partners on New Technologies in Imaging. As the first radiologist to join RP, she has been instrumental in shaping the technology platform which has enabled unprecedented scale and quality. A key part of that journey has been testing and deploying AI at scale. Here are just a few of the lessons learned: * we are early in AI with different types of models on different sections of the Gartner hype cycle, but all lack needed best practices and none have come into the core of the productivity plateau. * AI and radiology is truly a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup opportunity - better together! * AI sees things rads don’t but rads see and understand things AI doesn’t. * One key decision point for AI value is whether AI is really enhancing detection rather than confirming detection.
