The new Open Org HQ (maybe) Slightly random question, but has anyone got experience building a hobbit hole or underground shelter as a garden office? The weather is starting to improve so want to make a start on this (it has been a dream for a while now!) I was thinking: - damp-proof concrete pad - timber frame (not really sure on the kind of timber?) - log walls with "Waves hands" – some kind of filler!? (SOS) - waterproof sheet + insulation in the ceiling, floor + walls - stone back wall + simple fireplace. I guess i can just buy slabs and cement I found this on youtube which is quite close to what i'd like to build but not sure on right materials to try and source / if it matters.
