Get to Know John McCann 1. Can you tell us a little about yourself and your past roles at Betson? How long have you been with the company. I have been with the company for 35 years. I started in the Moonachie office as a bench technician, then moved to the Carlstadt office as service manager. In 1998, I moved to Buena Park, CA, as operations manager, and in August 2022, I moved to Henderson, NV, to open the Betson Las Vegas office. 2. What do you enjoy most about working at Betson? The feeling of family, not just a job. 3. Can you share a memorable project or experience you’ve had while working here? Transforming a completely new building into the facility that Betson Las Vegas has become. 4. What drew you to the arcade game industry? I had just moved back to New Jersey from Canada and was looking for work. While working with a placement agency, an opportunity with Betson became available and it sounded very interesting. 5. How do you stay motivated and inspired in your role? My motivation comes from when an installation is finished and see the outcome. Working and training other employees. Seeing how all the hard work and dedication I have helped the company. 6. What are some of your favorite arcade games, and why? I like skeeball, basketball, and the old school coin pusher games. They remind me of growing up on the Jersey Shore. 7. Outside of work, what are your hobbies and interests? Just started getting into off-roading. Also watching Baseball and football. I also like to cook and barbecue. 8. What are you most excited about for your new role? The ability to help develop new products and how they will help the company expand its overall growth. I also support the OEM sales team and help grow that area.

"Today is my first day on the job. They don't tell us anything. They just put us out here." So said the door-to-door salesperson after only 45 seconds of conversation and two basic questions. Sweating in the afternoon Florida sun, walking, knocking, pleading, trying to find residents, any resident, willing to listen, let alone sign up. Two months ago, the corporate brand, with its heavy machinery and sprawling crews, had swept through the neighborhood installing buried fiber optic lines. Then all was quiet for about eight weeks. Suddenly every day now brings a door knock, twice a day on the weekend. There are several observations to me made. I choose to consider the plight of the frontliner and the wonderfully universal statement, "Today is my first day on the job. They don't tell us anything. They just put us out here." No prep, no marketing, no leave behind, no confidence, no purpose. This example is exactly at the core of the Experience Gap. Do you see it? #frontline #experiencegap #experiencehandyman

"Cliff was hired last year as a salesman in our Lonestar Region in Texas. He goes above and beyond the role of salesman, doing QC on jobs, and hopping in a mixer when needed. It seems like almost every day Cliff is calling with news of another big job he got for us, and we had to add mixers and drivers to keep up with all the work he gained us. He always has a positive can-do attitude and is a huge part of our future growth in Texas. Thank you, Cliff, for all you do." Nominated by: Jeramy Croell, Territory Manager Favorite thing about working at Croell: Getting to be a big part of this fast-growing, family-oriented company and enjoying the challenges that are asked of me to help this company grow. Most interesting project: Stephenville ISD football stadium - 20,000 yards! What advice would you give to someone who might want to join Croell: Be excited to be a part of this company. Don't be afraid to learn this product and how it works. Hobbies include: Spending time with my family and friends. Going out to listen to music with my wife. One thing people probably don’t know about me: I've been active in the fire service for 29 years. Bucket list: Building another antique truck. #CroellInc #EmployeeSpotlight #EmployeeRecognition

Everyone at work used to think that I went by “TK” because my last name was too hard to pronounce. Actually, when I was hired at RELCON (just before it was acquired by the Tribune) the two co-owners of the company, Tom Swanson and Tom Atkinson, went by their initials, TS and TA. I was told that if they hired me, I would have to be called, TK. Of course my dad told me, they could call me whatever they wanted as long as they spelled my name correctly on my paycheck. 😊 I’ve always tried to see the bigger picture at work and go the extra mile to make sure we succeeded as a company. I’ll never forget early on in my career as an art director when a coworker in sales told me, “They shouldn’t call you, ‘TK’. They should call you, ’AB’ because you go Above and Beyond!” That attitude and work ethic has stayed with me throughout my entire life. In fact, shortly before my (nearly) 30-year career at Tribune came to an abrupt and unexpected end, I was so proud of the fact that I had sold my first ad in Chicago magazine! Why was I proud of this? Because… I wasn’t in sales. As the Prepress/Design Manager, I was preparing files to upload to the printer because we were going to press in two days. I was told to run a “house ad” in an open 1/3-page vertical position. I knew the sales team was struggling to meet goal, so I asked if I could try selling the ad to a local small business at a discounted rate. I figured any revenue is better than no revenue — and I was successful. I didn’t do it for the commission, because I knew I wouldn’t get any. I just wanted the team to succeed. If you’re looking for a team player with plenty of valuable experience and a can-do attitude, who’s willing to go above and beyond to ensure the entire company is successful, please consider me. Thanks!

Employee Feature Friday! We are thrilled to spotlight Jared, our dynamic and dedicated Territory Manager from Calgary, as we celebrate his 3rd workiversary next week. Since joining EVS in 2021, Jared has made remarkable strides. Here's a glimpse into his journey and experience with us: Path to EVS Before joining EVS, Jared's career path was diverse and rich with experience. After graduating from university, he started as a salesperson in the landscaping field. A few years later, he expanded his sales expertise by working with formwork systems on large-scale projects like skyscrapers and bridges. Although formwork and beverage solutions are vastly different products, Jared's sales philosophy centers around #trust and #relationships. As he puts it, "If you can sell one thing, you can sell anything. It's all based on earning trust." A Day in Jared's Shoes Every day is a new adventure for Jared. He begins by tackling urgent emails before heading into the office to handle leads. After that, he's on the road, embracing the ever-changing nature of his role. Jared thrives on the #flexibility of his position and loves connecting with clients, believing that a five-minute in-person interaction is far more impactful than a 30-minute online meeting. Adventurous Spirit If Jared could sum up his experience at EVS in one word, it would be #adventurous. He enjoys the variety and challenges that each day brings, knowing that no plan is set in stone. “There’s no right or wrong answer or formula to sell; each client is different, and every day brings something new.” From navigating roadblocks to seizing new opportunities, Jared's journey with EVS is anything but routine. Why Jared Loves EVS Enjoyable Products: Jared finds joy in both consuming and selling our beverage solution products. Supportive Team: He values the camaraderie within the Prairies team, describing them as a supportive and collaborative. Flexibility: Jared appreciates the flexibility EVS offers in designing his day, allowing him to adapt and thrive in his role. We are lucky to have you on our team. Your adventurous spirit, dedication, and adaptability make you an invaluable asset to EVS. Keep shining, Jared! :)
