On April 10, Benesch’s Mark Lindemann, PE is presenting at the 2025 Shallow Exploration Drillers Clinic! Mark’s session will explore the unique geotechnical challenges and lessons learned from the NDOT Niobrara East and West project along Highway 12 in Nebraska. Rising water levels from the Missouri River caused frequent flooding on the highway, creating significant challenges for maintaining the roadway’s functionality and safety. The project team developed a solution by elevating approximately 12 miles of roadway using new embankments and bridges—reducing flood risk while maintaining access to some of Nebraska’s most scenic areas.
