A brilliant post by Rob Abelow that really resonated with me. It's about the mindset we should all have when building communities, and it perfectly aligns with what we aim to do with Swift. Rob shared an example of Fred Again hosting a secret listening party for 150 fans at the Los Angeles Coliseum. He personally invited fans who attended his first LA show in 2021, greeted each one, handed out tea, and previewed new songs, all just two days before his sold-out 77k cap Coliseum show. This is a masterclass in building fandom. Fred Again's approach is the epitome of community building: - Show fans they're seen. - Show them they're valued. - Create magical moments. At SWiiFT, we strive to create this exact ecosystem for our clients. It's not just about words; it's about actions that demonstrate genuine appreciation and connection. SWiiFT features and functions are designed to facilitate these deep connections, ensuring every interaction is meaningful. Our platform enables clients to: - Identify and reward their most loyal supporters. - Create exclusive experiences and moments that fans will cherish. - Foster a sense of belonging and value within their community. DM me if you would like early access to our plaform. SWiiFT coming soon. Pixel Boss 🫶

As I continue to preach community & feedback loops for festivals and the importance of this , many concert and festival promoters ask me how to cultivate and grow their platform. Here's a quick reminder: Community isn’t a platform. It isn’t the events you do. It isn’t the merch you give out. It’s so much more. It’s the relationships. It’s being there to celebrate your goals with your members, and even mourn when things don't work out. Community is a feeling, a vibe you get with like-minded people. It’s knowing you have people you can count on and trust. It’s also being there for others when they need you. Communities are not about 'scaling'. It's about reaching out to real people that are real fans of your brand, and this takes time. It takes many 1:1 relationships. But the moment you start to get it right, you'll see the light at the end and you'll know deep in your heart that this pillar becomes your spine for your movement!

From a Printer to a Cultural Phenomenon: The SXSW Story In 1989, Austin was a quiet college town, and South by Southwest (SXSW) was just an idea. Hugh Forrest, armed with a Mac Plus and a laser printer, became its first paid employee. That first year, they planned for 300 attendees—600 showed up. What made SXSW grow into a global cultural powerhouse? Hugh credits three things: 1. Persistence: “Patience and persistence are a huge advantage, especially when starting out. 2. Community: Austin’s artists embraced collaboration, turning challenges into opportunities. 3. Serendipity: From local connections to hosting Barack Obama in 2016, magic came from the unexpected. Hugh’s advice is simple but profound: - Write down every idea. - Build authentic relationships. - Embrace rejection—it’s often the start of something great. What could you achieve by staying persistent and open to serendipity? How pop-up events turned a struggling coffee shop into a local sensation. In San Diego, Brew & Gather hosted weekly pop-up events featuring local musicians and artists. These events attracted new customers who stayed longer, spent more, and came back with friends. Their revenue per customer increased by 30%, and they became the go-to spot for creatives in the city. The strategy: Collaborate with your community. When you uplift others, they’ll help uplift your business in return.
