Where is value in #GenAI?
Now a debate has started about the validity of investments in GenAI. While we understand that the investments are huge and ROI is low till now, but in the long term GenAI is going to the fuel of business. Like they said Data is the new oil, we are not far from saying GenAI is the newest oil.
Now comes the question what in GenAI will drive the business, will it be LLMs or something that is built of these fundamental models. To answer that question we need get little deeper into characterization of both.
LLM – Large Language Model is a huge investment (of the tune of $100M) and requires continuous flow of funds to keep it running. Which is a difficult proposition for smaller organizations. However these are basic building blocks for many applications that can be built on this fundamental structure.
GenAI Applications are use cases that are built on top of these LLMs. These applications will drive the businesses. There applications will augment human intelligence. The organizations are adopting these applications at a very rapid pace. These applications are huge opportunity for smaller organizations and startups to get ahead in the race. #AIVA by https://speedtech.ai is one such application apart from many other like SORA, Midjourney, Lensa etc.
While businesses of today, do not need to build their LLMs, but they need to build applications based on LLMs and take advantage of GenAI. Earlier they get into this arena better it will be for their growth and understanding.
We should also be mindful that GenAI will be replace humans, but humans with GenAI skills will replace the other set.
So buckle up, scale up and adopt.
