BAE Systems Australia’s Post

Great to welcome Deputy Prime Minister, The Hon Richard Marles MP, and Minister for Defence Industry, Hon Pat Conroy MP, to the BAE Systems stand at #Avalon2025. Andrew Gresham, our Managing Director – Defence Delivery, updated them on our work, together with the Commonwealth and industry partners, to upgrade and sustain the JORN network and its Over-The-Horizon Radar (OTHR) capability, which keeps Australia secure. The Commonwealth today announced the creation of a new office dedicated to selling sovereign Australian defence technology to our international partners. OTHR is one of the key capabilities the Australian Defence Strategic Sales Office (ADSSO) will look to export offshore. Andrew also provided an update on the capabilities that will be delivered through the sixth-generation air combat capability known as the Future Combat Air System.

I hope that Australia seeks to join GCAP / Tempest in the future as it would be a great capability uplift to deter Chinese aggression and regional conflict.
