Time to Celebrate a Historic Moment: It is not a coincidence that following the Global Certification Forum (GCF) announcement of MCS conformance test and certification regime activation, we hear that the first test laboratory succeeded in securing approval for a pioneering MCS MC-PTT client. Congratulations go to Frequentis AG for the historic step of being the first innovator to successfully certify an MC-PTT client, the MissionX Android SDK. Recognition is in order for the pioneering test facility behind the certification. AstaZero is a Swedish laboratory that stepped up to the daunting task. Getting to the point of an activated MCS test required an iterative approach of test, adjust, test, adjust, test, adjust for all the parties involved. Only when all tests ran without error could the GCF conclude that the AstaZero had successfully demonstrated that the testing process was valid. Then, it was a simple matter of re-running the tests. This time for an actual conformance test leading to certification evidence. It is a case of chicken before egg, but both the chicken and the egg are moving quickly. Congratulations to the team at AstaZero for persevering on this important and challenging journey. Now that the GCF has activated the test process and we have the first client certified, the process for future clients is simpler.
