In stop and go traffic, it can sometimes be difficult to get a complete view of the surroundings. This can also be true for vehicle sensors. As an oncoming vehicle suddenly approaches at high speed, the driver and vehicle may be unaware, causing a hazardous situation. To improve Rd. safety, cellular V2X technology can give vehicles a new perspective. As other sensors in the area detect the oncoming vehicle, CV2X kit communicate that data via 5G to the edge intelligence located at or near a 5G base station. Which in turn can ingest the information and distribute it to affected vehicles in the area. Those vehicles can then make better decisions with more data, including a decision to avoid a potentially dangerous turn.
