Behind the scenes of Applus+ IMA - visit from the TU Bergakademie Freiberg!  Last week, we opened our test halls to students and scientific employees from the Bergakademie Freiberg, who are studying foundry technology, materials science and materials technology. 🎓 For several years, there has been a special relationship with the TU Freiberg - some of our colleagues have studied there too. After a welcome and a brief overview of our company by Markus Hoffmann, our guests dived straight into the exciting world of testing at Applus+ IMA. First stop: the department for Automotive and Environmental Testing! Dr.-Ing. Andreas Schelenz showed the students how we test the functionality and durability of manufactured products under various external environmental influences such as vibration, impact, temperature and humidity. With Patrick Langner from the department Pipe Systems and Construction Products, the students went on a real ‘pipe tour’ and learnt everything about testing pipes, fittings and valves through to complete pipe systems. The last stop: our department Medical Device Testing: Marcel Knothe explained how we primarily test knee, shoulder and hip joint implants in our laboratory and develop customised test stations, such as our HX12 multi-station simulator.  A huge thank you to our guests from Freiberg - we are already looking forward to your next visit. 👋 Applus+ Laboratories #ApplusLaboratories #ApplusIMA #Students #TUFreiberg
