How many of you are using Google Tags Manager and Analytics to research and compare weekly/monthly conversions, unique visitors, page views, etc. I was able to show my last client enough information, they were able to lower their Google advertising budget and refocus their efforts on existing customers! Performance Max Google Ads don't work without enough data. What does this mean? If you don't have enough conversions, Google ads can't optimize well to find your ideal customers because they lack the data. This is why you need to have conversions firing (for a while) on your website before enabling a feature like Performance Max in Google Ads. So, many businesses want to hide the real numbers from the competitors, or they just want to keep this sensitive data away from others 🔒 In this blog post we will describe how to set up Profit Over Ad Spend based tracking for Google Ads and Google Analytics and how to use server Google Tag Manager with Firestore to pull in sensitive profit data (or other sensitive data) and report it to the Google Ads products in place of revenue as the conversion value.
