Mini project...🏗️ Overhead Tank construction project...🧰 →Overhead tank construction plotting using a total station involves accurately establishing the tank's position and dimensions on the ground. →This is achieved by setting up the total station at a known point, taking measurements to control points, and calculating coordinates for the tank's corners. → The plotted points serve as guidelines for excavation, foundation construction, and subsequent tank erection. ℹ️ An overhead tank is a water storage system elevated above ground level, designed to provide consistent water pressure and supply to buildings or facilities.

👷 Are you or anyone you know, involved in building or construction work? It’s really important to check what’s lying below and get the underground plans before starting a project - electricity and fibre cables and gas pipes could be anywhere. Striking a cable or hitting a pipe is dangerous and can be avoided with the correct checks in place. 📑 Take a read of our safe digging article in the latest issue of BRANZ Build magazine and learn more about keeping yourself and others safe. https://lnkd.in/gfhUnMmk ➡ Request free underground plans at beforeUdig https://lnkd.in/gd2-fnV

During my site visit, I had the opportunity to observe the Jack and Bore trenchless construction method being used for the installation of a new pipe at this location. This method is ideal for installing short runs of pipe through stable and dry soils, particularly in areas free of large boulders. Overview of the Jack and Bore Method: The Jack and Bore process is a trenchless technique designed to minimize surface disruption while installing underground infrastructure such as sewer lines. Here's a brief overview of how the process works: Preparation of Pits: The process begins with the excavation of two pits: a sending pit at the starting point and a receiving pit at the endpoint where the pipe will be installed. Boring: A large auger or bore is then driven through the soil from the sending pit to the receiving pit. The bore is typically powered by hydraulic jacks, hence the name “Jack and Bore.” The bore head cuts through the soil and creates a tunnel for the new sewer pipe to be inserted. Pipe Insertion: Once the bore is complete, the new sewer pipe is pushed through the tunnel to its final location at the receiving pit. The process is controlled and efficient, helping to avoid significant disruptions to the surrounding environment. #Metrolinx #Utilitywork #Utility #Civil #Construction #CivilWork #JackandBore

"Efficient and Eco-Friendly: Pipe Jacking Simplifies Underground Pipeline Installation" Pipe jacking, also known as microtunneling, is a trenchless method used to install underground pipelines with minimal surface disruption. This process involves pushing prefabricated pipes through the ground using hydraulic jacks, while simultaneously excavating soil from the tunnel face. It is suitable for various ground conditions and can be used to install pipes for sewerage, water, or utilities. Pipe jacking reduces environmental impact and disruption to traffic compared to traditional open-cut methods, making it ideal for urban areas. The method requires precise engineering and monitoring to ensure alignment and stability during installation. video rights : ISEKI #microtunnelling #pipejacking #piping #engineering #construction #civilengineering #civilconstruction #engenharia #engenhariacivil

Congratulations to Sealevel Construction Inc for earning a PDCA Project of the Year Award in the Marine: More than $5M category! Sealevel Construction was subcontracted to install two marine platforms to facilitate natural gas pipeline interconnections in the Barataria Bay for the new LNG facility in Plaquemines Parish, La. The project plans consisted of constructing two platforms, named TETCO and TGP. The TETCO platform, 150 feet by 350 feet in size, required the Sealevel team to install 184 spun-cast cylinder piles, 72 caps, 221 decks, associated grouting, 1,000 linear feet of handrails and two boat landings. The TGP platform, 140 feet by 165 feet in size, consisted of 94 spun-cast cylinder piles, 36 caps, 96 decks, associated grouting, 600 linear feet of handrails and two boat landings. Once Sealevel’s template and piling crew had most of the pilings of the first platform installed, Sealevel prepared to deploy a cap and grouting crew while the on-site surveyor began marking installation alignment. However, during this process, the surveyor noticed several piles were not within pile location tolerances. After many calculations and analyses, the surveyors and engineers concluded that pile heaving was causing the issue, though geotechnical reports did not indicate that any vertical or horizontal movement was anticipated. Due to this, Sealevel restructured its project schedule to install the remaining pilings for platform one and postponed setting the caps until movement subsided. The transportation of materials to and from the site also posed a unique challenge and required constant strategic logistic coordination. A pipeline ran between Sealevel’s laydown yard in Grand Isle and the site; contractors were only permitted to cross the pipeline during specific set hours each day. Not to mention, the trip to site from Grand Isle by barge was nearly FIVE HOURS in ideal weather conditions. 🌉 Athabasca River Bridge project! See the video of the erection of the center span drop-in segments. Using a 400-tonne crane, the 39-meter-long, 53-tonne girder segments are being installed as drop-in sections to connect the 100-meter main span. A top-flange stiffening truss ensures stability and safety of the plate girder segments throughout this complex operation. Once complete, this 259-meter bridge will serve as a vital connection for Alberta's communities, featuring two traffic lanes and pedestrian access. 🔍 Check out our technical posts to learn details about the erection procedure and the project: 1.
