Cutting the ribbon yesterday of our campus extension construction site "Pole Alpha" with French minister for AI and Digital Economy Mrs Clara Chappaz. As all of us here, Mrs Chappaz seemed in awe of the construction project, where EURECOM will expand into, end of 2025, thanks to the strong support of Institut Mines-Télécom (IMT), and thanks to the drive of Sophia Antipolis leadership, including Mr Jean Leonetti, President of CASA. Located at the doorstep of our current EURECOM building, and designed to become a regional and national AI & digital hub, Pole Alpha will simply be a fantastic place to work for our researchers and a great place to experiment for our students. An ultra modern facility with lots of open spaces that will foster cross-fertilization between students, faculties and the cream of Sophia Antipolis entrepreneurs and innovators. The visit also gave me a unique opportunity to describe to Minister Chappaz the salient features of our unique school model: -> A European academic joint venture between 16 European leaders of academic and industry world. -> A thoroughly international environment with English as teaching and working language -> An education environment which strives on research and innovation, with professors leading the pack in fields like AI, Cyber, and networking technologies.
