True confidence is rooted in respect and humility. When seeking help or connections, approach others with politeness and clarity. Make specific, manageable requests, such as 'Please connect me with...'. Empower others to assist you by providing relevant context and details, without adding unnecessary complexity to their workload. When building your network, begin with those you've already established relationships with, like former classmates, friends, and colleagues.

Finding the right balance at work is hard ! When actively looking for a job, it’s easy to fall into the trap of choosing a job where you are "over-competent" —where everything’s so easy but so routine, it’s boring. It's like you're just going through the motions without any excitement. On the flip side, many job seekers want to accelerate their career so fast, they are ready to take on any "over-challenging" role, and it's no fun either. Trying to do too much at once can lead to stress and burn out, making it hard to actually enjoy what you do. The trick is finding that sweet spot—challenging enough to keep things interesting, but manageable enough to keep you sane. How are you working towards striking this balance in your career? Let’s chat about it. ----------- 💟 Hi, I'm Fred, I'm a passionate Career Coach and I love delivering value & strategic advices to job seekers and professionals to have an immediate impact on their career. 🔔 Follow me and register to my TalentFB newsletter https://lnkd.in/gTsFSQ4P for more free content. ♻️ Please share to your community to spread the love.

This statement overlooks a number of important nuances. I don't believe life is as simple or binary as the statement suggests. Life is an improvisation, a mosaic of unique experiences shaped by our individual values, circumstances, and definitions of success. Financial freedom plays an indispensable role in this equation, especially for those of us for who safety, comfort, and independence hinge on adequate resources. As a Black woman and mother who has experienced financial dependency and financial abuse, I recognize that creating a legacy of financial wealth is not just personal; it’s a generational imperative. For many, financial security is a foundational aspect of freedom, enabling us to make choices that align with our goals and values and to live life on our own terms. That is real freedom. Real freedom encompasses both financial resources and the ability to curate meaningful experiences: the freedom to spend time with loved ones, to choose how to structure our days, and to enjoy simple pleasures like reading a book in bed or walking at leisure. It’s not either/or—it’s both, AND. Financial independence is a critical enabler of the broader freedoms that make life fulfilling and self-directed.
