An interview is interestingly a two way assessment of the kind of person you’d be working with/ reporting to. The questions the interviewer chooses to ask are as important in evaluating how your reporting manager thinks, how practical/redundant their thought process is, whether they have a high EQ and what level of honesty/fluffed up answers are they fishing for. A dismissive, belittling interaction in an interview, unnecessary prying in your personal life or an air of self importance are usual red flags. Personally, a bleeding red flag for me is also an interaction where I am not allowed to be authentic and the interviewer expects me to manufacture some generic fluffed up nonsense which sound corporate-y and professional on paper, but they’re far from the truth. Things more often than not, only get worse from there. #interviews
