Virtual production is changing the way production companies think about their shoots. This video shows a couple great use-cases where the teams are not fighting light or their environment to get very specific shots. The rotating floor is another mind-blowing innovation. It seems like right now, people are under the impression that this tech is more expensive than practical production - but when it comes to the amount of time and resources saved - as well as major logistical headaches avoided - it can often come out to be more affordable to use virtual production. I will be writing more about this concept soon. I find it fascinating.

Film Friday - This is my speed editor by DaVinci Resolve. If you use DaVinci, I consider it a must-have. However, today’s focus is not on the editing tool, but on how Blackmagic Design changed the game. I began my storytelling journey with a Canon T3i. In 2012, Blackmagic made a significant impact with a uniquely shaped camera that offered 2.5K raw footage and 13 stops of dynamic range. I still have that camera. Blackmagic transformed the landscape for indie filmmakers by providing cinema-quality features at an affordable price.
